Quickie, a Threesome's Short Getaway.

Hi! Been a while since I've updated this blog.
Anyway, how's everybody?

It's summer here now and by golly, it is hot (and very humid!)
What better way to cool off the summer heat? Swimming, of course!

Dee, Drei and I (in a drunken stupor, lol) decided to go to Burot Beach in Batangas.
So away we went! ~ ♥

Dotted by trees, Burot is a beach located in Calatagan, Batangas. Just a few hours from Manila, Burot beach is a great choice for those who are looking for a quick getaway. The beach is carpeted with cream-colored sand and kissed by calm blue waters and lined with rock formations.

We took a a passenger van in Taft at about 4:00 in the afternoon (cost is 180 each) and arrived in Calatagan at about 6:45 in the evening. From there we bought food enough for an overnight stay then rode to Burot in a tricycle (150.00 or 50.00 each since there were three of us.) Entrance to the beach is 65 per head (bonfire already included) plus 300 to rent a tent (it's free if you bring your own! ^_^). We told our tricycle driver to fetch us at about 8:30 the next morning. There were a lot of people since it was the weekend so we picked a spot closer to the water to avoid the crowd. Then we settled in our cozy little tent. We ate our "lutong ulam" while we watch one of the beach staff start our bonfire.

Without the bright lights from city buildings, we marveled at the sight above us. Stars dotted the night sky like floating lanterns from the animated movie "Tangled." We even made S'mores! Yum ~ ♥

We woke ten minutes before 6am the next day and decided to take a swim. The water was cold and refreshing. We went to some of the rock formations and saw a school of tiny fishes heading back to the rocks. We saw starfishes (as big as my face!), small jellyfish and sea urchins.

Top'o the morning, Burot!

There's a separate shower room and a toilet, one for the ladies and one for the gents. They're clean but don't expect much though.

It was an overnight camping experience that I'd definitely do again. :)

Burot in a nutshell. ♥

Tips to remember in Burot

1. Try going on a weekday to avoid the crowd.
2. Bring what you need.
3. Don't forget to save the mobile number of the tricycle driver so he knows where they'll pick you up.
3. You can bring aqua shoes since there are jellyfishes and sea urchins. (We just wore our slippers and kept a wary eye near the rock formations.)
4. Clean as you go so other visitors can enjoy a garbage-free beach like you did. :)

How to make S'mores

What you need:

marshmallows
Graham crackers
barbecue sticks

Steps

1. Using the barbecue sticks, stick it into the middle of your marshmallows
2. Roast the marshmallows using your bonfire
3. Wait until it's soft and gooey (but too much because it will melt through your stick)
4. Once soft and gooey, put your marshmallow in between two Graham crackers
5. Enjoy it's sweet gooey goodness!

'Til the next adventure!
